I just watched this film. I'm usually not too crazy about musicals, but this movie was different than most. I was really surprised when I found out that none of the songs were lip-synced, but filmed live. Evan Rachel Wood has such a pretty, pure voice.
Sometimes I need to be reminded what great songwriters the Beatles were. Across The Universe succeeded in that.

The hubby and I took the kids camping this past week. I saw an Airstream trailer just like this one down the road. They are so sweet. Maybe someday.......

Isn't this a great photo? It's from Jana Kohl's book, A Rare Breed of Love. I recently attended her book signing and she said she had also approached Hillary Clinton and John McCain to pose with her dog, Baby. Kohl is hoping to raise awareness of the horrendous conditions in puppy mills. Of course, (no big surprise) Clinton and McCain never responded to Kohl's request. Barack Obama, being the great man that he is, posed with Baby, a dog Kohl rescued from a puppy mill. Hopefully he will help get the message out there to people who aren't yet aware of what these dogs go through. I believe he and his family are planning to adopt a dog rather than buy from a breeder. What a wonderful example he is - in every way.

Target.com has the coolest acrylic tumblers. If I didn't already have a million mismatched cups in my kitchen, I would definitely buy some like these.

This is such a great idea for people like me who can never think of cool, new things to make for dinner:

I went to see this last night. Despite the so-so reviews that I had read, I was pleasantly surprised. I have never had HBO, but watched every episode of the Sex And The City series on DVD. I loved that show. Sometimes I'd stay up for hours watching it.
The movie made me laugh hysterically, cry a little and thoroughly enjoy myself. What more can I ask from a film?

I just started reading this book. So far, so good. I've always been fascinated with the Manhattan Project. I think it's because I grew up in Los Alamos. There is something strange and creepy about that town....

This company makes the most durable handbags ever. The bags are pretty cute too, I think.
